Day 1: Do you believe God?
Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:36
In this scripture we see Jesus instructing Jairus and the synagogue leaders to believe. They had just received word that Jairus’ daughter, who was sick, had died. Jairus had come to Jesus and was bringing Him to his daughter to heal her. In the process the worst news imaginable came to them, that his daughter had died. We may never experience a moment exactly like this, but we all experience circumstances that are not what we wanted or expected. Circumstances that threaten to steal our belief in the Lord. Where what we see, tries to determine what we believe. Jairus and the leaders were in the middle of that battle where the Lord reminded them to “not be afraid”. To see beyond what they knew, and to trust in a faithful God. Let’s take some time today to see beyond the circumstances we are in. That we would not be afraid, but that we would believe. Placing our Faith in Jesus.
Lord, I thank you that you have promised to always be with me. To never leave me nor forsake me. I pray that as I go through this day, you will help me to see things through the eyes of Faith and not of fear. Learning to trust in you, because you are with me.
