Day 7: God our Healer
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
When we begin to see God as he is in scripture, it opens us up to seeing who He is to us today. Isaiah 53 speaks of the moment on the cross where Jesus died on the cross for us. That moment carried so much value for us, in that it set us free from the power of sin and death and gave us access to a new and eternal life in Christ. But we also see that it was on the cross that his wounds gave us access to healing. Healing from the power of sin, healing from our past, healing from what others have done to us, healing in our bodies. It speaks of a promise that we can live in today. That we are healed. His sacrifice has given us access to a full, healthy, free life in Christ. Not just on Earth but for eternity in Heaven.
Lord thank you for the sacrifice that you made for me on the cross. I am eternally grateful for what you have done. Today I am choosing to receive the wholeness and healing that was promised because of your sacrifice. I pray for healing in my heart, my mind and my body, that I will be made whole in you. I thank you in advance for what you have done and what you are doing and what you will do in my life.
