Day 36: Generosity Opens Doors
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10
Generosity to God’s house open’s doors for us and brings forward blessings. Malachi 3 details the blessing of being a tither. Tithing is honoring God with the first ten percent of your income. God asks us to test him only once in the entire Bible. It is in the scripture above, and it pertains to honoring Him with tithes and offerings. Whenever you give to a ministry or a church, you are giving to the Lord, the ministry or the church is simply a channel. When you tithe your income to your local church, the storehouse, God says that he will throw open the floodgates of heaven. He will also pour out so much blessing that you will not have enough room to store it. Moreover, God also promises protection to tithers. Malachi 3 promises that God will prevent pests from devouring your crops and the vines from your fields will not drop fruit before it is ripe. This means that as a tither, God will provide supernatural protection for your finances. Your generosity to God by tithing opens doors for you that no man can shut. When you honor God with the tithe, know that God will honor you.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you because everything that I have came from you. I pray that as I honor you with the first ten percent of my income, my tithe, you will open the flood gates of heaven and pour out blessings there will not be room enough to store. I thank you for rebuking the devourer for my sake. Amen.
