Day 25: The Gift of Community
there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. Acts 4:34-35
We are not meant to do life alone. As people, we need a community. In this scripture, fellow believers gave finances to the apostles. The apostles then distributed the finances to those who were in need. The needy would have never had their needs met if they were not in community with other believers. We need a community to edify, encourage, and support us. While it was financial support in the above scripture, a community can counsel someone dealing with depression, provide company to someone lonely, or assist someone with a manual task. To accomplish anything that God has called you to do in the Earth, you will need people to help you. The community that God sends you to will help you fulfill your assignment.
Father, in the name of Jesus, please lead me to the right people. I pray that you remove any wrong people in my life and give me discernment to recognize when you have sent someone to me. I pray for mutually beneficial relationships that edify and encourage me. I thank you that you are leading me to anybody necessary for me to fulfill my assignment on the Earth. Amen.
