Day 22: His Provision goes beyond What we see
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2
Abraham never could imagine what God’s blessing in His life would amount to. The language here says He will make Him into a great nation. But Abraham never saw it. We see in Romans that He died before seeing the promise. However, Abraham’s response to the provision God gave was to give back. In this process the giving and the provision were a part of a much larger purpose than the simple gift. It is the same with us. What God provides and what we respond with in giving, are all a part of something much bigger than the gift. We know that with this process of leaning into who God is and what He has for us, is not just about the moment. It’s about joining in God’s bigger purpose, far beyond what we can see.
Lord, help me to see things from an eternal perspective. Placing my hope not in just the seen but the unseen. That what you have given me, and what you ask of me are all a part of your bigger purposes and plans. Help me to value the part that I play and to appreciate the opportunity to be a part of your eternal plans.
