Day 17: Stewarding what He gives
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. I Peter 4:10
We are blessed to be a blessing. When God has given you a gift, it is not just ours to hoard. We are meant to share the gifts that God has given to us with others. Typically, in a ministry context, we think of God’s gifts as singing or preaching. A gift, however, may be any natural ability or talent. It may even be something material or financial that God has given to you. We should be faithful stewards of these gifts and use them to serve others because they are ours solely due to the unmerited favor of God. The Lord generously extended his grace towards us, so we should generously extend our gifts toward others.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that you would make me aware of every gift that you have given to me. Teach me how to use my gifts for the building of your kingdom. Guide me on how to use my gifts in the most effective and efficient manner. Amen.
